After working through being a sysadmin, a project manager, a Ad Exec, Director of Marketing, New Business VP, and serving on a number of community Board of Directors, I decided that I would synthesize my experience into an idea.
The idea that as we become more inundated with advertising and messages, as we become more cynical about the accuracy of a gutted media, and distrustful of people selling us crap we dont want and don’t need, that we need to connect businesses that are authentically providing something that consumers want, with the people that want that thing.
The growth of the internet and advertising has turned our daily lives into a walk through pitches aimed at trying to get us to do something or another, whether we care or not. Through fear, or love, or hate, or just ridiculous bullshit businesses try and guide consumers to buy their idea, their thing.
At the same time there are a growth of small businesses that are focused on providing the best and most authentic experience to their clients. An entrepreneurial response to bullshit, with real things and experience that connect with people in real ways and enhance their lives.
Big businesses are also trying to focus on their strengths and connect with their clients in an increasingly competitive and multifarious environment. Trying to remember why it is that they started making and selling things, and why their clients and employees should care.
